8/9/2024 – UPDATE
OK everyone you are going to love this insanity from CDA Commissioner Rhea and her band of wackos.
As all of you know by now about the ignorance and disrespect shown to our Business Agent LaTasha at a meeting at Midway Airport and her being told to leave and the police called to escort her out of the building. Well you have probably seen my post a few days ago about CDA not knowing how to use a paper and pencil to move forward with the incident, hold onto your hats it only gets better now.
Last evening we received a pre-disciplinary meeting notice from CDA about the incident and low and behold the meeting supervisor, hearing officer in DSS language, is none other than Terrence Thomas, the same guy who is named in our ULP for refusing to hear LaTasha’s side of what was happening that day, the same guy who told her to leave or be escorted out of the building, the same guy who not only did not take any action against the attacker but instead took his side on the matter and now he is going to hear the case for CDA, why even have the hearing at all, we already know the outcome.
This is just another example of the ignorance and disrespect not only this Union but our members face every day working for the City of Chicago in every department, and I mean every department. Mr. Mayor maybe it’s time you take a break from getting your hair and makeup done and take a good look at your Department’s management. You like to brag how much the City gets done, well here’s a news flash for you, it’s the Laborers who are doing the work not your air head, coward, disrespectful managers and commissioners. So when your office threatens to fire all of them make sure your managers know how to do the hard work the men and women of Local 1001 do everyday, they wouldn’t last an hour!!!
