Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The challenges and obstacles we have faced in 2022 as a Union have been overwhelmingly addressed and resolved all due to the strength of the men and women of this local union.
Your dedication not only to your work but to your Union has not gone unnoticed by the Officers, Executive Board and Staff of LiUNA Local 1001.
Your strength and support during the year has moved and inspired us to keep driving forward in our commitment to make this Union the strongest it has ever been. With your support we have once again proven to the City, and the citizens of Chicago, the great benefit of having Union Public Sector Laborers working in all aspects of city services, including Aviation, Sanitation, Transportation and so many others. The value, each and every one of our members bring to the table every day is an affirmation that our members are the men and women that keep Chicago moving day in and day out.
Without your hard work we would never have been able to have so many new positions added to our membership this year and we never ever would have had the opportunity to have worked with the City and announce that for the first time in modern history Local 1001 has ZERO seasonal layoffs. We could not have done this without your help and the hard work that you do every day.
