COVID-19 Update on Essential Services and Possible Draw Downs (Pay)

Update from last nights meeting with the City of Chicago.

As early as tomorrow the City will begin drawing down its services. As of right now, all of our members at the City work in Departments that are providing “essential services”. We are being told that even those Departments considered “essential” may see a draw down of employees very soon.

Some members may be ordered to “tele-work”, or work from home, but all of our members will be paid their normal salary, and keep their benefits, during this temporary draw down of services.

We are working with the City to ensure this draw down is as orderly as possible, and protects our members while ensuring we can continue to safely provide the services necessary to get the City through this pandemic.

Again, any employees told to stay home during this temporary draw down will be paid and keep their benefits.
