Laborers’ Local Union 1001 again will offer our annual scholarship contest for the 2023-2024 school year. Each of the four scholarships will be a one-time award of $1,500. There will be three categories as described below. Please select the CATEGORY that best applies to the student.
To be eligible for the contest applicants must be children of members in good standing of Laborers’ Local Union 1001 and enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate program in the fall semester of 2023. There can be only one entry per student applicant and one scholarship per family. Students are prohibited from winning a second scholarship at any time. The last day to submit a form is close of business, July 28, 2023.
The drawing for the Scholarships will be held on August 20, 2023 at the Local 1001 General Membership Meeting.
Member (Parent of applicant) need not be present to win.
CATEGORY 1 – Only students who are in their Freshmen Year of undergraduate study in the year 2023 will be eligible for this scholarship. (1 winner)
CATEGORY 2 – Only students who are in their Sophomore through Senior years of undergraduate study in the school year 2023-2024 will be eligible for this scholarship. (1 winner)
CATEGORY 3 – All applicants who qualify for Category 1 or Category 2 above, will be eligible for this scholarship. (2 winners)
